Are cats better pets for atheists than dogs? (Prepare to watch the fur fly.) :-)

• No. Dogs are smarter. Cats are able to exercise in small spaces and they're quieter, so they have advantages. If you have a large yard and 12 year old kids, a dog would be better. (Michael Alexander #18)

  The problem in my case would be in letting one out of the house to roam. I wouldn't feel right keeping it penned up and I wouldn't feel right letting it out. On the other hand I can keep "that damn dog" fenced in so that she doesn't get converted to highway pizza. (atheist@home.com#1554)
